Hmm. My first thoughts about Google eBooks may have been correct: downloaded Google books are encrypted as .acsm files, not straight ePub.

I might have to go buy a commercial Google book just to test the compatibility issues, since I have all the major readers.

@jjdempsey Done: Apple iBooks are ePub with Fairplay DRM, while I suspect Google is using Adobe’s DRM manager. Incompatibility achieved!

I stand corrected: Adobe eBook format is ePub.
