A tough start to 2014; icy conditions on the platform and the commuter rail train hit someone in Ayer. Will be long morning commute.

Watching the stream of Mass Commuter Rail delay alerts online today makes me happy I followed the governor’s advice and worked from home.

I look at the birds at our bird feeder, and I can’t figure out how any of the tiny ones survive this weather. It’s presently 1 degree F.

Per Governor Patrick’s recommendations, I planned to work from home today; my train being cancelled just was icing on the cake.

As we New Englanders look forward to the first working day of the New Year tomorrow, just remember: “Winter is coming!” #snowontheway

Spent the last two days upgrading David’s Windows PC to an SSD. The hardware was nearly trivial; the Windows migration was a nightmare.
